01 / Test the economics
Two setups. The same network and time horizon. Change one machine or one power price, inspect the consequence in sats. Expected output is not a payout promise; machine defaults are illustrative, not a quote or recommendation.
Static comparison: difficulty, fees and starting subsidy stay fixed throughout the horizon. Halvings, future retargets and future fee changes are not forecast. The bench prints bitcoin units only: it fetches no price and converts nothing.
Both scenarios use these same assumptions. Source-seeded values retain the status below; editing or opening a shared URL does not turn an assumption into a new observation. Page evaluated 1 Oct 2026, 05:17 UTC.

Your starting setup.
Held assumptions: 95% uptime; 0 W idle; 2% pool fees.
Uptime 95% · pool fees 2% · idle 0 W · power price not entered
A / Static expectation · per day
≈ 8,893 sats a day
Expected after pool fees · 79.8 kWh a day
Break-even power price: 111.4 sats/kWh
Below this tariff the expected sats pay for the power; above it they do not.
Your alternative setup. It starts as the same machine drawing less power.
Held assumptions: 95% uptime; 0 W idle; 2% pool fees.
Uptime 95% · pool fees 2% · idle 0 W · power price not entered
B / Static expectation · per day
≈ 8,893 sats a day
Expected after pool fees · 68.4 kWh a day
Break-even power price: 130.0 sats/kWh
Below this tariff the expected sats pay for the power; above it they do not.
Difference · B minus A · per day
0 expected sats a day · +18.6 sats/kWh break-even.
A difference is not a recommendation. Excluded costs and probabilistic outcomes still matter.

Model static-v2: expected gross BTC/day = TH/s × 10¹² × 86,400 ÷ (difficulty × 2³²) × (starting subsidy + fee BTC/block) × uptime. Uptime and pool-fee percentages are divided by 100. Net output deducts the pool-fee percentage once from the whole reward, and one bitcoin is 100,000,000 sats. Fee revenue is editable: use zero for a subsidy-only pool arrangement, or the share actually passed through under your terms. PPS, FPPS and PPLNS differ in fee treatment, variance and counterparty exposure; this expectation is not a pool payment quote.
Energy counts hashing watts during uptime and idle watts during downtime. The break-even power price is expected sats per day ÷ kWh per day: the tariff at which the machine’s expected output just pays for the electricity it draws. Enter your own tariff in sats per kWh to see the margin; the bench never converts a currency. Hardware, hosting, repairs, financing, taxes, insurance and cooling beyond the entered watts are outside this comparison. No curtailment credit, heat-sale revenue or subsidy is assumed.
Bounds are input safeguards, not recommendations. Output and margins are expectations at held assumptions; no future difficulty, fee, subsidy or hardware path is forecast. Links saved before 1 October 2026 keep their machine and network inputs; the dollar inputs they carried no longer exist. Read hashprice at difficulty → Inspect source receipts →

The 30-day daily mean is 4.34% higher than the preceding equal window. More observed work per second does not identify its location, owner or cause. At an unchanged reward, greater competing work reduces a fixed miner’s network share.

05 / Read beyond the number
Higher difficulty means more expected hashes per valid block. At unchanged subsidy and fees, a fixed miner earns fewer expected sats. Hashprice compresses the reward and the difficulty into one figure per TH/s per day; its units and model matter.
Fee revenue varies with demand for blockspace. Efficiency is watts divided by TH/s, numerically J/TH. A less efficient machine needs cheaper power to earn the same sats per kWh.
Expected sats per day divided by kWh per day is the power price at which a machine’s output just pays for its electricity. Put your own tariff in sats per kWh beside it. The desk fetches no price and converts nothing; hardware, hosting and financing stay outside this comparison.
In the dated 30 Sep 2026 snapshot, the top three labels attributed 61.72% of the one-week sample. This is a historical block-label observation, not a live ownership or control score.
06 / Facility-level evidence
SG’s reporting starts with a location, measurement period, source and method—not a provider’s adjective. No facility mix, avoided emissions or recovered heat is inferred from network hashrate.
Identify the plant/grid region, period, meters and contractual attributes. Annual renewable certificates do not establish the generator responding to an extra unit of load at a particular hour. Nuclear can be carbon-free without being renewable.
Ask for interval load, dispatch instruction, baseline, power price and compensation. A machine’s ability to turn off does not demonstrate a grid service delivered. Reduced mining time and idle electricity belong in the economics.
Require metered useful heat at the recipient, temperature, season, losses and the displaced heating system. Report gross electricity use and recovered heat separately. Avoided emissions need an explicit counterfactual and independently supported factors.

Hashprice at difficulty = reward per block in sats × 86,400 × 10¹² ÷ (difficulty × 2³²) sats per TH/s per day. A block needs difficulty × 2³² hashes on average, so one TH/s over 86,400 seconds expects that share of one block’s reward. The fee-inclusive reading adds the tip height’s subsidy to the average fees of the last 144 blocks; the subsidy-only reading leaves the fees out.
Today: (312,500,000 + 2,694,830) sats × 86,400 × 10¹² ÷ (132,757,073,449,487.5 × 2³²) = 47.76 sats per TH/s per day.
Check it on a node: bitcoin-cli getblockstats for a block’s subsidy and total fees, and bitcoin-cli getdifficulty for the difficulty. No price and no hashrate estimate enter the figure.
None is realized revenue. Realized revenue requires credited sats, a matched operating interval and a measured machine, and a pool pays on its own terms.
A sat/vB fee estimate is a sender’s rate, not the miner’s BTC/block fee income. Confirmations are not guaranteed by a fee estimate. Inspect transaction demand and blockspace.

Infrastructure and demand matter at the facility boundary. An operator’s transition is not evidence of a network-wide energy mix.
