Your email address and whether it is pending, confirmed, unsubscribed, bounced or complained. The reason for a bounce. The form you signed up on. The dates it was signed up, confirmed, mailed and unsubscribed. The codes in the links we mail you. A record of each edition mailed to it. A salted digest of your network address, never the address itself.

Used for

Sending the confirmation link, the welcome mail and each edition, and counting signups by form. The digest limits signups from one network.

Kept

Until you ask for removal. Unsubscribing stops the mail; the email address stays on file, marked unsubscribed. An address never confirmed stays on file, marked pending. Resend keeps its record of each mail for the period Resend sets.

Held

Your name, email address, short bio, and website or Nostr address. The pitch: its title, text, type, topics and links, with the editor's status and notes on it. A salted digest of your network address, stored apart from the pitch.

Used for

Reading the pitch and answering it. The email address and the digest limit pitches per hour.

Kept

Until you ask for removal. The digest has no set period. The line in Telegram stays until the editor deletes it.

Held

Your email address, and Supabase's sign-in records, which include your network address. Cookies in your browser that keep you signed in, until you sign out or they expire; they are the only cookies the site sets.

Used for

Sending a one-time sign-in link and keeping you signed in, for Ask Satoshi.

Kept

The account until you ask for removal. An address that asked for a link and never used it stays on file. Supabase's sign-in records for the period Supabase sets, unless the editor deletes them on request.

Held

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights record the page's address, the site that referred you, your device type, browser, operating system and approximate location, and load times. They set no cookie. Web Analytics tells visitors apart by a hash of the request, discarded after 24 hours. On /unsubscribe they get the path alone.

Used for

Counting page views and measuring page speed.

Kept

For the period Vercel sets. These records carry no name or email address.

Held

Vercel's logs of each request: the page's address, including any code in a link we mail you, the site that referred you, your browser, the time and your network address. An error saving a bounce or a complaint adds the email address.

Used for

Running the site and finding faults.

Kept

For the period Vercel sets.

Each is a company outside Türkiye. The list, the pitches and the accounts are stored outside Türkiye.

• Supabase: the database for the list, the pitches and the accounts, and sign-in.
• Resend: sends the Brief's mail.
• Vercel: hosts the site, its logs and its page analytics.
• Telegram: carries the line that tells the editor a pitch has arrived, with the pitch's title.
• Google: holds mail written to info@satoshigazette.org.
