Luke Dashjr Leaves OCEAN; CONVOY Is Announced, Not Yet a Pool
OCEAN and Luke Dashjr say they have separated by mutual agreement. Dashjr resigned as chairman, chief technology officer and director, and OCEAN parent Mummolin repurchased all of his equity. Their joint statement attributes the split to different visions for Bitcoin mining after recent protocol developments, but does not identify the disputed proposal, the value of the transaction or replacement leadership. OCEAN says its transparent, non-custodial pool will continue serving miners. Dashjr will pursue a new venture called CONVOY, but the announcement provides no pool endpoint, code, fees, participating miners, template policy or launch date. The verified event is a leadership and ownership split. Whether miners or block-construction policy move with it remains an open, measurable question.
