The MTS is the federal government's monthly income statement. Table 1 gives receipts, outlays and the deficit for the month and the fiscal year to date; Table 4 breaks receipts down by source, including customs duties; Table 9 gives outlays by function, including net interest.
It is published as data through the Fiscal Data API, which is how the Gazette reads it, and every figure carries the statement date it came from.
The July 2026 statement is the one that showed the ten-month deficit already above the whole of fiscal 2025.
